Rick Wright deserves more than a quick mention that he sadly died yesterday at the age of 65. Here are the first three reasons why he is more important and interesting than the Credit Crunch:
1) We was a founding member of Pink Floyd - one of the most influencial album bands of the 60s and 70s.
2) He gave us that fantastic piano accompaniment to Great Gig in the Sky from Dark Side of the Moon.
3) Don't forget his suberbly soaring synth parts on Wish You Were Here.
I think we ought to collect more reasons in tribute to someone who gave great listening pleasure to millions, including myself.
I am so glad I went to see the Floyd in 1995, but getting the band back together can't happen now!
Farewell Richard - your music will live on!
